Why, hello there! I was just reading back a few posts, and seems I start out every other one with "I can't believe it's been so long!" Well, here we are again. Life has been a little crazy, and I have been knitting like a madwoman in order to finish Mr. Greenjeans.
Last weekend, I dogsat for a good friend of mine. She and her husband were away for the weekend, so I spent mine curled up on her couch with her dog, my knitting and their nice widescreen tv. Since last Friday, I have watched 10 episodes of Brothers and Sisters (I'm totally caught up now!), eaten 6 bags of microwave popcorn, spent 2+ hours watching clips of The Office on YouTube, and knit 2 sleeves and a button band on Mr. Greenjeans. Not bad, I say.
Mr. Greenjeans is currently pinned out and blocking on my living room floor, so no pictures yet. I'll be wearing him this weekend, though, so there will be action shots soon!
Well, excuse the lack of pictures today - as of tonight, I'm picking up my abandoned projects....um, Cozy, anyone? Expect more posts in the not so distant future.
Bright and early tomorrow, Melinda, Gena, Kristen and I are headed to SAFF for the day! I am super excited - this is my first fiber festival. Several of the girls from our Knit Night at Knit Picky will be there, and I can't wait to see who else! I'll be sporting the new sweater, of course.

Fall has finally arrived in Winston Salem! It's still pretty warm in the afternoons, but there have been a few quite chilly days. I spent part of the weekend near Pilot Mountain with some friends -the leaves haven't done much changing yet, but the fall air seems so much more crisp in the mountains. We spent much of Friday night wrapped in blankets on the porch, watching stars - we saw 3 shooting stars! It was the perfect start to fall.
I have been knitting away like a madwoman on my cardigan. I bound off on the body this afternoon, and I'll probably pick up on the sleeves tonight. It's coming along well. It's a teeny bit small, but I know it'll grow a little bit once it's washed and blocked. I've done a little more work on the leaf lace shawl, but it looks pretty much the same, so I'll spare you more rumply pictures. More updates soon!

So, it's been awhile - hi friends! I am still blogging, and knitting, but life has been a little crazy lately. But I hadn't realized quite how long it had been.
I have finally got the apartment looking like a home instead of a storage unit...which also means I can spend my evening with guilt free knitting. Although it was 92 degrees yesterday - thats right..NINETY TWO - in OCTOBER...I can feel fall coming. My favorite season. I love sweaters and leaves and fall tv. So, it is just right that I should combine the three.
I am working away on Mr. Greenjeans, but I caved in and started the Leaf Lace Shawl. My fingers were itching, and after watching Kristen, Gena and Melina and their beautiful lace, I couldn't wait. I am using Sweet Georigia's Handpainted Lace in Coffee Bean. It's a light, rusty brown that looks perfect for fall leaves. I'm really enjoying it so far. It's at the point now that it's moving pretty quickly, although that won't last long. I've had a hard time getting a good photo, but here's an idea of what it looks like. After using that tiny little lace yarn, the worsted for my sweater feels huge! It's looking good - I am about halfway through the rib and cables. I am hoping to have it finished in time for SAFF...I'd like to able to wear it then. I am doing the cables without a cable needle, and it is going so much faster! I can't wait to wear it.Well, that's it for tonight - but I promise, the next post won't be so far away :)
